Cars To Be Taken OFF THE ROAD!
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

I've done some reaserach lately and figured out that even if our cars became Hybrid, we will still be polluting the earth, due to the massive number of drivers. Do you agree with the idea that cars should be taken off the road? Or there should be a minimum time to drive, like 3-5 hours a day maximum. I agree with limiteing people to drive within certain times.

Well, some cars could be too old to be on the road for driving. Using car's engine sometimes is just like walking. If we just stay home for a certain time without walking or running, it will cause us some problems that could even kill us. A car is like that, too. Car shouldn't be taken off the road, they should excerise just like us to keep up the good health (engine)...

Re: Bossy
Actually, here are some good ways to keep your car in good condition, even if you store it away for a while:

1. Place your car in a dry area. A very moist area may cause it to rust.

2. Add some fuel-stabilizing additives after you fill up your gas tank, so that it prevents the gas from oxidizing. A low of empty gas tank may internally rust, due to the moisture spreading inside the tank.

3. Remove the car tires and place your car up on jack stands. This is to relive the weight off of the tires.

4. Wash your car every now and then, so that it doesn't become corroded or rusty.

5. If your car comes equipped with an alarm, it is better to disconnect the battery, even though you may have to replace it later. If you are storing the car away for a short period, it may help to start the car every few weeks for about 10-15 minutes.

6. Cover your car with a car cover.

If you follow most of these steps, the car shouldn't be too bad when you begin to drive it again. I mean, look at today's Hot Rods. They have cars from the 50's and 40's. Imagine how they took care of their cars. I don't think someone would spend 50 years driving a '57 Chevy Corvette, just to make it look good. They probably wax it up, change the engine every now and then, etc.
